Bri Tampa, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
My "Why"
I believe deeply in the human capacity to adapt and thrive through compassionate therapeutic work, the exploration of consciousness, and meaningful connection with others. This belief has been a guiding force in my life for over 20 years, leading me from remote forest settings to university research environments.
I bring a grounded, curious, and non-judgmental presence to my work, and I strive to meet each person with genuine compassion and respect for their lived experience. My approach is informed by both experiential and academic learning, and is rooted in the belief that healing happens within safe, attuned relationships.
I work with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, identity exploration, and major life transitions. Together, we work to support your reconnection with inner resilience and a sense of wholeness. It would be an honor for me to be a part of your therapeutic journey.
Three Fun Facts About Me
I befriended wild peking ducks to where they would visit me everyday and sit in my lap.
I spent 6 months over landing and camping throughout North America while visiting almost all of the national parks.
I have completed multiple apprenticeships studying herbalism and non-ordinary states of consciousness.
My Favorite Books
Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Any collection of Rumi’s poetry
My Hobbies
I love hanging out with my 8-year-old daughter. I value balance in my life between quiet time at home and adventures outdoors. I enjoy my time spent meditating, bouldering, or playing guitar.
My Journey as a Therapist
I earned my B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Central Florida in 2013. This allowed me to study across disciplines aligned with my interests, including psychology, nutrition, philosophy, and botany (bio-medical).
After nearly a decade of teaching over 1,500 art and meditation classes in schools, I noticed that the most meaningful moments consistently occurred during one-on-one support. This realization led me to pursue my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University, which I will complete in May 2026.
I have received training in EMDR and Brain spotting, and I continue to deepen my clinical and personal learning.
My Favorite Superhero
Wall-E is my favorite superhero because he saves the last plant. Yes, yes, I know, I consider him a superhero for the humble care he shows toward others and the environment.
My Favorite Quote
“Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known” Carl Sagan
