Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified EMDR Therapist

My "Why"?

I feel like I have spent much of my life trying to be what everyone else needed me to be. I took care of others, held everything together, and appeared capable on the outside, yet inside I struggled with self-doubt, anxiety, loneliness, grief, and the persistent feeling that I wasn't enough.

My own life has included experiences with low self-esteem, suicide, grief, loss, major life transitions, and the difficult work of rebuilding. Those experiences ultimately became part of what led me to the counseling profession. They taught me that healing doesn't mean forgetting what we've been through or pretending painful things didn't happen. Healing is learning that our experiences can be part of our story without having to determine the rest of it.

Today, I consider it a privilege to walk alongside others as they do that work for themselves.

What It's Like to Work With Me

I work with all ages and primarily focus on those who are experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. I especially enjoy helping people who have spent years questioning themselves, putting others first, carrying painful experiences alone, or feeling disconnected from who they truly are.

My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I also believe meaningful therapy sometimes requires us to gently challenge the beliefs and patterns that are keeping us stuck.

You don't have to come into therapy knowing exactly what to say or where to begin. You also don't need to hide the parts of yourself or your story that feel messy, complicated, or difficult to talk about. My role isn't to judge your choices or tell you who you should be. Instead, we'll approach your experiences with curiosity and compassion, helping you understand where certain patterns began, what they may have helped you survive, and whether they are still serving you today.

Together, we can work toward helping you feel safer in your own life, more confident in your decisions, more connected in your relationships, and more accepting of the person you are becoming.

My Clinical Journey

I earned my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University in 2021 after returning to graduate school at age 45—an experience that reinforced one of the beliefs I carry both personally and professionally: fear does not have to determine what we are capable of doing.

I am a Certified EMDR Therapist and have completed extensive training in trauma, suicide prevention and intervention, and marriage and family therapy. I am also a Prepare/Enrich Marriage Facilitator and a Florida approved supervisor.

I incorporate evidence-based approaches while recognizing that therapy is not one-size-fits-all. We will work together to determine what feels most helpful for you, at a pace that respects both your goals and your sense of safety.

My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can put down the pressure to have everything figured out and begin developing a different relationship with yourself—one built on understanding, courage, self-compassion, and hope.
