My “Why”
Having experienced my own mental health challenges, I understand firsthand the meaningful difference therapy can make. I believe our early experiences play an important role in shaping who we become. By working with children, I help them develop the emotional awareness and skills they need to grow into healthy, resilient adults. In my work with adults, couples, and families, I support clients in understanding how past experiences and trauma may continue to affect their well-being and relationships.
I am committed to providing inclusive, affirming care that honors each client's unique identity, culture, and lived experience. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where every person feels respected, understood, and validated, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, cultural background, or neurodivergence.
I enjoy working with children, teens, parents, mothers, college students and emerging adults, couples, and families. My work is grounded in person-centered and child-centered approaches, allowing clients' current concerns, needs, and goals to guide our sessions.
When working with couples and families, I draw from a systemic perspective to understand how each person is affected by patterns within the family and by the broader systems around them. We are all shaped by our relationships and environments, including our families, schools, workplaces, and communities. As a marriage and family therapist, I bring a specialized understanding of the relational patterns that influence every area of life, from romantic partnerships and friendships to sibling, parent-child, and professional relationships.
Three Fun Facts about me:
1. I was born and raised in Miami, and my parents are Cuban and Puerto Rican.
2. I am a thrill seeker and love amusement parks and their coasters.
3. I have two super cute chihuahuas who are only 4 weeks apart in age and have lived with me since they were 2 months old. They are turning 12 years old in 2026.

Whenever I have free time, I love to do any type of craft. My favorites include:

My Journey
I graduated from the University of Central Florida in December 2024 with a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a certificate in play therapy. During my graduate training, my practicum and internship experiences focused on supporting children and their parents.
I am currently working toward full licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist, which I anticipate earning in early 2027. I am also pursuing credentials as a Registered Play Therapist and Certified Child-Centered Play Therapist.
While I have specialized training in play therapy and relationships, I enjoy supporting clients across many ages and stages of life, including children, teens, college students, emerging adults, parents, couples, and families.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and neurodiversity-affirming. I have experience supporting individuals and families affected by ADHD and autism, and I provide LGBTQ+ affirming care. Whether you are seeking support for your child, yourself, your relationship, or your family, I would be honored to walk alongside you.

Lauren's private pay rate is $120/hour. She is currently accepting new clients for in-person and virtual sessions, Monday thru Friday. She participates with FL Blue, Aetna, and Cigna insurances and Health Savings accounts.
