What can I expect during my first few therapy sessions?
Your first 1-3 therapy sessions typically involve an initial assessment where you and your therapist discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and your background. These sessions are an opportunity for you both to get to know each other and to design a plan for therapy that helps you reach your goals. The next few sessions focus on building your tool kit for navigating difficult symptoms, taking a deep dive to get to the root of your challenges that brought you into therapy.
How long does a therapy session typically last?
Therapy sessions typically last 50- 60 minutes, although some sessions may be longer depending on the therapist’s recommendations and your goals.
How often should I attend therapy sessions?
The frequency of therapy sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Initially, weekly sessions are common, and we feel meeting weekly helps you reach your goals and sustain meaningful change. Of course, we can discuss a plan that works best for you.
Do you specialize in treating specific issues or populations?
Yes, our therapists specialize in treating various issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, LGBTQ+ concerns, cultural, racial and religious concerns and more. How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Do you offer therapy sessions in-person, online, or both?
We offer both in-person and online therapy sessions to accommodate your needs and preferences. We can meet in-person in our Orlando, FL office or virtually throughout Florida, Virginia, and South Carolina. Our online therapy platforms ensure confidentiality and convenience.

We are in network with FL Blue and Aetna and considered Out of Network with other insurance providers and can provide you with a Superbill for reimbursement. We do not accept Medicaid or Medicare. We do accept Health Savings Accounts (HAS's). Please read more here: https://growingbranches.net/rates-insurance/

Can therapy help with medication management or psychiatric concerns?
While our therapists do not prescribe medication, they can collaborate with psychiatrists or primary care providers to coordinate medication management if needed. Therapy can also complement psychiatric treatment by addressing emotional and behavioral concerns.
How long does therapy typically last, and when can I expect to see results?
Most of our clients begin to feel calmer and experience relief from their symptoms after 6-8 sessions and begin to feel significant change after 4-6 months of therapy. Sustainable change begins to occur after about 6 months of therapy. Our clients report feeling more in control of their emotions and reactions, and less hijacked by difficult situations. Clients report feeling relief from needing to utilize old, outdated coping skills and now view the world with a renewed sense of freedom and insight.
